This year’s recipient, Andrea Clarke, is Principal of St Augustine’s Elementary School in Bell Island, Newfoundland. Fondly known by her students as Mrs. ABC, Andrea Bernice Clarke is not only devoted to her school, but to the Bell Island community as well – where she grew up and lives. Her philosophy of learning can be summed up in two words, relationships first. Since taking on the principalship in 2022, she views her school as a relational ecosystem where safety is the primary catalyst for academic growth.
