President’s Message

Welcome to an organization that advocates for Principals, Vice and Assistant school leaders across Canada.  Our association began in 1977 as a response to school leaders who wanted a national voice and a means of addressing concerns that impact Canadian schools.  Over the years we have advocated for school based leaders, designed platforms to support professional develoment for school leaders, as well as partnered with organizations that also share the same mission.. to improve publicly funded education for all students in Canada.

My name is Carol Sarich.  I am the 44th President of the CAP organization.  As a national board, we work collaboratively with affiliates across Canada, including representation from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, NWT, English Quebec, NB, Ontario, NFLD and PEI.

Communication Advocacy Presence

CAP objectives focus on these three main themes.  We achieve this through regular meetings with the board, with information being shared with affiliate members; through an active website that details CAP events, publications and resource supports; partnerships with agencies in advocating for concerns impacting schools across Canada.  We are also very proud of our CAP journal that is published three times a year; focusing on articles capturing current trends in Canadian education and leadership development, research projects and provincial/territorial highlights.

This year our CAP national conference is in Toronto, April 23-26, 2024.  Hope to see you there.

Carol Sarich,
CAP President
