CAP Charlottetown 2023

On May 14th, 15th and 16th members of the CAP executive and board of directors met in Charlottetown, PEI.  During these meetings affiliate members received reports from the president, the president-elect and the executive assistant.  In addition, each affiliate provided a report from their province. Members reported on meetings that had been held with our national partners.  Other highlights were the budget review, the CAP Journal, the CAP website and ongoing preparations for Toronto 2024.

The CAP 2023 national conference followed on May 17th, 18th and 19th.  The PEI 2023 organizing committee received well deserved praise for the quality and ambiance of the conference which was attended by just over 500 participants.

Keynote speakers included Jody Carrington, Richard Gerver and John Morrison.  Attendees also had an opportunity to meet CAP’s Distinguished Principal of the year, Randy Gallant and CAP’s Distinguished Vice Principal of the year Francyne Doiron.  Each was presented with a specially designed commemorative ring by Jostens – presented by Jordan Lorette.  CAP’s student leadership award recipients from across Canada were also recognized. CAP’s past president, Terry MacIsaac, was honoured by his colleagues at the president’s reception and received a plaque as token of his leadership and guidance during 2019 and 2020.

Congratulations to the PEI 2023 team for a job more than well done!
